LVDT means Linear Variable Differential Transformer. The basic element consists of an iron core and two coils. By means of a weak electromagnetic coupling between the primary coil and the secondary coil, the displacement of the iron core is varied in relation to the output Voltage (current) changes in a linear relationship.
